Career Agility: Stages, Voice, and Claiming Your Next Chapter

March 10, 2026 447

Some careers follow a ladder.
Others move in stages — stretching, pivoting, and evolving as life evolves.

Jaime Chambron has built her life and leadership around that truth. A career strategist, founder of Career Agility System, and longtime advocate for women in tech, Jaime’s work is rooted in one central belief: there is no single “right” path — only the path that fits where you are right now.

For Tiffany Odutoye, this conversation is both professional and deeply aligned. Jaime’s story mirrors so many of the themes that define How She Rises: intentional growth, clarity of voice, and the courage to ask for what you actually need.

Listening to Jaime feels like sitting with a calm, steady guide — someone who’s navigated change enough times to know that clarity isn’t found by rushing, but by checking in.

A Career Built on Reinvention

Jaime’s professional journey began in the fast-paced world of technology during the internet boom and bust. Early volatility taught her a lesson many professionals only learn later: careers are not static — and neither are the skills required to sustain them.

Over the years, she moved across roles, companies, and functions — learning how to continually reposition herself, refresh her personal brand, and anticipate what the market would need next. Rather than seeing disruption as a threat, Jaime learned to treat it as an invitation to adapt.

That experience ultimately led her to early retirement from corporate tech and into entrepreneurship — founding Career Agility System to help others do what she had learned to do instinctively: navigate change with confidence and clarity.

Career Agility and the Power of Voice

At the heart of Jaime’s work is the concept of career agility — the ability to evolve intentionally as your life, values, and needs change.

She speaks candidly about how many professionals — especially women — move through careers without being fully vocal about what they want. Rather than stating needs clearly, they wait to be noticed or assume their work will speak loudly enough on its own.

Jaime challenges that idea. She believes leadership requires voice: asking for opportunities, requesting growth, negotiating compensation, and being explicit about what comes next.

Career agility isn’t about constant movement — it’s about intentional alignment.

Leadership Through Empowerment

Throughout the conversation, one word consistently surfaces in Jaime’s definition of leadership: empowering.

She believes great leaders create space — they delegate, develop, advocate, and then step out of the way. Empowerment, in her view, isn’t control. It’s trust.

That mindset shapes her coaching practice, her community leadership with women in tech, and her vision for the next phase of her work: guiding professionals from early career to legacy-building.

Advice to Her 25-Year-Old Self

When asked what she would tell her younger self, Jaime’s answer reflects the core of everything she teaches:

“There is no one-fit-all path or journey. Your career is going to be in stages, and in every stage you need something different.
Gain clarity on what you need now and what you want now — and be vocal about it to get where you want to go next.”

It’s advice rooted in lived experience — and offered as permission to release timelines that no longer serve you.

Her SheRo: Black Widow (with a Twist)

Jaime names Black Widow as her superhero — drawn to her strength, intelligence, and quiet influence.

With a smile, she adds a personal twist: her parents would likely say The Bionic Woman, since Jaime was named after Jaime Sommers from the TV show.

Both choices point to the same truth — power doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it moves with precision, resilience, and purpose.

Why Jaime Chambron’s Story Matters

Jaime’s story is a reminder that careers don’t need to be rushed — they need to be aligned. That growth happens in stages. And that knowing what you want right now is just as important as knowing where you want to end up.

Her journey offers permission to pivot, to speak up, and to trust that evolution is not failure — it’s leadership in motion.
